We’ve Set Up Camp and It’s Time to Celebrate
We're celebrating the opening of our new Hobart store with an Adventure Story Slam and a photo exhibition showcasing local talent and the wild beauty of Tasmania.

We've landed in Hobart and we're ready to celebrate. We're bringing together the creative, the curious and those who dare to explore for a Story Slam in the adventure capital of Australia.
On November 23, Join us from 5pm @ Hobart Brewing Co. to celebrate the spirit of local exploration with an evening of storytelling, free food and drinks, live music and good vibes.
Following our kick-off event, The North Face Hobart store will also host a photo exhibition from Thursday 23 November until Sunday 25 November 2023, featuring submissions from local photographers. Find out more event details below, and come along to celebrate.
About the Adventure Story Slam
The Adventure Story Slam is a competition based on the art of storytelling, with judging on content and performance. This is unscripted storytelling at its best - authentic, real & raw. We invite you to nominate yourself (like you would for karaoke), and if your name is drawn from the hat, take to the stage and share your adventure tale.
If sharing a yarn in front of an audience isn't for you, come along and gather around the firepit to hear some of the best adventure tales. Listen, laugh, applaud, weep, holler – a storyteller is only as good as their audience.

About the Photo Exhibition
If you’re a new, emerging or established Australian photographer living in Tasmania, we invite you to enter The North Face Photo Competition.
Categories:
- Love wild places. Photos that capture the wonders of Tasmania’s landscape – its mountains, rivers, coasts, and bushland.
- Spark curiosity. Photos that stoke curiosity because curiosity is at the heart of exploration and adventure.
This is a people’s choice competition. The North Face will select finalists to display in The North Face Hobart store exhibition from Thursday 23 November until Sunday 25 November 2023.
During this time the community is invited to come in store, view the exhibition and vote for their favourite photo.
A winner from each category will receive $500.
